WES Technology was designed with the welfare of the children in mind. Studies show that a polluted environment affects children more adversely than the adults. This especially in areas where there are large concentrations of dairy and other livestock farms, where water and air pollution is being experienced. Cases of Asthma, Pneumonia, other respiratory related sickness and skin diseases are prevalent among those children.
A good example is Tulare County CA., there are more than 500,000 milking cows that produce about 25,000 tons of animal manure daily with no adequate system to address the problem. At present they are practicing the “trapping” method wherein they cover the manure with plastic to prevent methane gas escaping and attempt to reduce the spreading of odor, and open ponds to accumulate the water. This method does not solve the problem but just delays the pollution; methane gas atmospheric emission. In this process, it poisons the underground water tables. Raw and untreated manure is used as fertilizer and spread in fields, which, likewise, contribute to the pollution.
Tulare is the second most polluted County in California, next only to Los Angeles County. They are now experiencing serious problems in their water supply. Their rivers and lakes are polluted due to Nitrogen run-off from the dairy farms and kills fish by the millions. Likewise, it creates an odorous environment.
This problem is replicated all-over the United States and the world, in areas where there are concentrations of dairy and other livestock farms. Animal manure, according EPA, has polluted 40% of the assessed waterways, killed billions of fish and responsible for 15% of methane gas atmospheric emission in US.
